21 Days Birding Safari in Uganda

 



Day 1: Mabira Forest


After breakfast early in the morning our tour guide will pick you up from the hotel and drive you towards eastern Uganda.

Continue through Mabira forest along Jinja road for a forest walk in search for birds. The forest represents one of the most

 important ornithological sites in Uganda with more than 300 bird species such as the hornbill species, the great Blue

turaco,African grey parrot, African pitta, sunbird and nahan’s francolin. Mabira Forest is one of the two places in East Africa

where the pretty tithylia lives and where this rare bird is seen here frequently. Then you will have a picnic in the forest. Have

dinner and spend the night at Mabira Forest Lodge or NFA Headquarters.


Day 2:


Go on a full day nature walk through the forest immediately after breakfast in search for birds not spotted the previous day.

Have a picnic break in the forest and then continue with birding. This birding activity also gives you a chance to see animals

like monkeys and antelopes. Have dinner and spend the night at Mabira forest lodge or NFA Headquarters.


Day 3:


After breakfast, drive west through Busingiro and Budongo forest reserve in Masindi. This route will offer you a panoramic view

of sugarcane plantations, abundant vegetation and indigenous traditional homesteads. Budongo forest has over 366 bird

species. Have dinner and spend the night at Nyabyeya Forestry College or Busingiro Tourist site.


Day 4:


After an early breakfast you will enjoy a full day birding in the forest starting with the Royal mile area. This Royal mile is

referred to as the country’s premier forest birding home to a number of species such as the western black –headed oriole, the

purple-headed starling banded snake eagle, crowned and African pied hornbill, bat hawk seen at sundown, white-thighed

hornbills, yellow-billed barbets, the chocolate backed blue breasted and African dwarf kingfisher and the green buls. Have a

picnic in the forest as you bird.Have dinner and spend the night at Nyabyeya Forestry College or Busingiro Tourist site.


Day 5:


After breakfast you will get on your way to the Kaniyo Pabidi sector of the forest for more birding. This area also gives a chance

to see chimpanzees while driving to Murchison Falls National Park.  In this forest you will take a look at birds like the rare green

breasted Pitta, African wood and African scops owls and the puvel’s illadopsis, a recently discovered bird. Drive towards the

top of the falls where the Nile is full of splendor. River Nile is transformed into explosive foam of thunderous water and goes

down in funnel-shaped streams through a narrow cleft in the rift valley escarpment, offering the most inspiring scene of its type

in East Africa. You will see birds like the pel’s fishing owl, chest-nut crowned and the red-winged grey warbler.You will be taken

to Paraa Safari Lodge on the ferry for dinner and night.


Day 6:


After breakfast you will sail on the Nile to the bottom of the falls. The boat takes off at 9:00 am and you are advised to sit on its

left hand side to have a good view of the birds and the other animals because most of them bank on that side. You will see

hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes as they are surrounded by fish eating birds like the Egyptian geese, goliath heron, pied King

fisher, African darter weaver, African skimmer, fulvous duck and many more. After lunch go birding around the hotel. Have

dinner and spend the night at Paraa Safari Lodge.


Day 7:


After breakfast you will be taken to the northern game-viewing route crossing the screeching spike acacia and see birds like

the speckle-fronted weaver. Move across the airstrip via the Victoria Nile trail that leads you down the edge of the Victoria Nile

delta. On arriving at the Nile, check out the papyrus edges for the resident shoebill, blue breasted bee-eater and swamp

flycatcher as well as other swamp dwelling species. Afterwards, head towards the Albert Nile trail to see the white billed barbet

and black scimitar bill. Get back to Paraa safari lodge for your dinner and night.


Day 8:


After breakfast take your packed lunch with you and move to Masindi to bird along Lake Albert and the escarpments of the

Albert rift valley. Have dinner and spend a night at Masindi Hotel or Court view hotel.


Day 9:


Head to Kibale forest national park after a cup of tea. In the early hours of daylight you will get to bird at the entrance of the

forest until the evening. Dinner and night will be enjoyed at Ndali Lodge or Kanyanchu tourist centre.


Day 10:


After breakfast have guided birding in the Kanyanchu area where you will look out for birds like the grey parrot, the African

go-shwak, the masked apalis, the royal crowned eagle and many more. Have a picnic lunch in the forest and head to the

Bigodi wetland refuge through the magombe swamp where you will see birds like the brown headed tchagra, papyrus gonolek,

mosque swallow and papyrus canary. Enjoy dinner and night at Ndali lodge or Kanyanchu.


Day 12:


After an early morning breakfast, head to Queen Elizabeth National park through the Magombe swamp birding route. After

lunch at the hotel, you will have an afternoon birding in the Crater Lake section and Mweya peninsula to search for the wide

spread grassland species like the croaking cisticola, marsh tshagra, the pallid and montagu’semigrant species. Enjoy dinner

and night in Mweya safari lodge.


Day 13:


After breakfast drive towards Lake Kikorongo and the Kasenyitrail for more birding in Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will

see birds like glossy and sacred ibises and common squacco herons in the Kikorongo Area. The Kasenyi trail passing through

grass plains contains large numbers of storks as well as raptors. You will see the martial eagle and the brown snaked eagle.

Have lunch and go for the launch sail in the afternoon on the Kazinga channel to see both inhabitant and non-inhabitant bird

species such as the African morning dove and the Eurasian honey buzzard. These birds circle around hippopotamus and

buffalo, a charming combination you can’t afford missing. Enjoy dinner and night at Mweya Safari Lodge.


Day 14:


After breakfast, drive through the Ishasha sector towards Buhoma-Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will then bird in

Buhoma area in the afternoon. Enjoy dinner and night at Gorilla forest camp or Buhoma community Bandas.


Day 15:


After an early breakfast, move to the forest next to the waterfall trail for birding. Search for birds such as the slender billed

starling, Kivu ground thrush or the white bellied robin-chat. After lunch, bird on the main trail as you go down to the camp.

Dinner and night will be enjoyed at Gorilla forest Camp or Buhoma community Banda.


Day 16:


Bird on the short trail to Mubwindi swamp, where you will see bird species like the montane oriole, the African green broadbill,

turacos and many more. Have dinner and spend a night at the Institute of tropical forest conservation (ITFC).

 

Day 17:


Enjoy a birding exploration on the long track to Mubwindi swamp and later in the afternoon do the same along Rihija. Dinner

and night will be enjoyed at the Institute of tropical forest conservation (ITFC).


Day 18:


Early in the morning after breakfast,drive to Lake Mburo National Park on the road towards Kabale. In the late afternoon bird

along the access road to Rwonyo to witness acacia associated bird species like the rupell’s long-tailed starling, mosque

swallow, and the black-bellied bustard. Dinner and night will be at Rwonyo Rest Camp or Mantana Tented camp.


Day 19:


Drive along the lakeside trail and Kigambira towards Kampala and watch birds like the African hawk, green-capped

eremomela, batelour, austral migrant, black cuckoo-shrike tawny,etc. Arrive in Kampala in the evening head to The Lodge

Lweza or Hotel Africana or Sheraton Hotel where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 20:


Early in
the morning go birding in the Botanical Gardens in Entebbe where you will find birds like the verreaux’s eagle,vieillot’s

black weaver, red chested sunbirds, golden-backed weaver, black headed gonolek and many more. Have a picnic lunch. Then

have dinner and spend the night at The Lodge Lweza or Botanical Beach Hotel or Imperial Resort Beach.


Day 21:


You may bird in the Mabamba wetland depending on your flight details and then after be taken to the airport for your flight by

our representative or guide.

Tour itinerary


Day 1: Kampala to Kibale Forest National park


After breakfast drive to Kibale forest national park and arrive in the afternoon for lunch. Take a nature hike to the crater lakes

and Nyakasura's ‘Amabereganyinamwiru’ loosely translated as the ‘growing breasts on the rock’.


Day 2: Chimp trekking


After breakfast start your chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest national park. Then, continue to Semuliki national park for

birding and primates tramping.


Day 3: Primates Trek in the Semuliki Valley


Have breakfast and get into the rainforest in Semuliki valley for chimp tramping and birding. After lunch, go back to the forest

for a wildlife visit.


Day 4: Semuliki to Queen Elizabeth


After breakfast drive to Queen Elizabeth following a pleasant road along Rwenzori Mountain, known as the ‘Mountain of the

Moon’.Enjoy a game drive on your way to Mweya Safari Lodge. After lunch at the Lodge, sail along the Kazinga Channel,

which is known for its exceptional birding and game screening.


Day 5: Wildlife tour in Queen Elizabeth National Park


You will have to get upearly in the morning to catch up with the early risers, especially predators like hyenas and leopards.

After breakfast continue to Kyambura Gorge for chimp trailing. Enjoy lunch at Jacana Safari Lodge andtake a walk in

Maramagambo forest. Visit the bat cave where bats are feasted on by enormous pythons.


Day 6: QENP to Bwindi via Ishasha


After breakfast, we will take you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park through the Ishasha southern sector of Queen

Elizabeth National Park in search of tree-climbing lions. We will carry on to Bwindi and get there in the early evening. To end

the day, we will have a community walk to the Pygmies for cultural leisure. 


Day 7: Gorilla Trekking


After breakfast early in the morning, leave with your packed lunch and walk to the park headquarters for a briefing. At 8.00am

you will get on a mountain gorilla trail in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Observing mountain gorillas grumbling among

themselves and silverbacks (the head of the gorilla family) thumping their chest will send a chill up your backbone. Go back to

Buhoma Community Bandas to have dinner and rest overnight.


Day 8: Bwindi to Lake Bunyonyi


After breakfast, drive through the beautiful the Kigezi Highlands– the ‘Switzerland of Africa’ –and arrive in Bunyonyi Overland

Camp for lunch. Enjoy a boat trip to the ‘Punishment’ Island, where the traditional Bakiga people would send girls impregnated

out of matrimony to let them die of hunger. Or they would risk swimming back to their homes and sink along the way. The

island also has many beautiful birds.


Day 9:  Kampala Trip


Take an early breakfast and start driving back to Kampala with lunch in Mbarara. Have a stop-over at the Equator for

photography and then arrive to Kampala in the evening for a visit of the city.

Tour Itinerary


Day 1: Murchison Falls Wildlife Tour


Our safari guide will pick you up from the hotel and take you to Murchison Falls National Parkvery early in the morning. On

your way, you will pay a visit to Ziwa Rhino refuge where black and white rhinos are kept in a semi-natural environment. The

next stop-over shall be in Masindi for lunch and you will to the top of the falls in the evening, where the Nile, the world’s longest

river,is forced to flow through anarrow7 meters widerocky gorge before plummeting down 43 meters. Then you will take a ferry

across the river to Paraa Safari Lodge. Look out for hippos, elephants, buffalos and many other animals as they graze on the

banks of the river.You will have dinner andspend the night at Paraa Safari Lodge or Nile safari Camp (Full Board).


Day 2: Game Viewing In Murchison Falls National Park


Go for an early morning game drive towards the northern river bank in search for Cape buffalo, elephants, bohor reed bucks,

lions, rothchild's hyenas, giraffes, hartebeests, waterbucks, oribi, bushbucks, and if lucky, leopards. Go back to the lodge for a

mid-morning breakfast and rest at the lodge until lunch. After lunch, go for a boat sail at the bottom of Murchison Falls.

The charming boat tour along the Nile is the highlight of a tour to the Murchison Falls national park. It allows you to have a

close contact with the animals.You can be assured to spend a great exploration moment with over 4,000 hippos reported to

dwell on the river banks,many Nile crocodiles and a birdlife dazzling with brightly colored kingfishers and bee-eaters. On your

lucky day, you may see the rare shoebill, a mix between a dodo and a dinosaur. The boat sails to the base of the falls and lets

you enjoy the Nile at large.Your nightwill be spent at either Paraa Safari Lodge, Nile safari Camp or Sambiya River Lodge. 

Day 3: Murchison Falls - Fort Portal


After breakfast let us drive you to Kibale Forest National Park while passing by traditional homesteads bordered with crop

plantations.You will arrive in Fort Portal in the evening. Have dinner and spend the night at Ndali Safari Lodge or Mountains of the Moon.


Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking Safari In Kibale Forest


After breakfast,go to the ranger station in Kibale National Park at 08.00am for a briefing about trailing the familiarized chimps.

These good-looking apes are more closely related to humans than any other living creature. It is a great adventure watching

them as they wrangle and jump from tree to tree. This forest is home to over 13 primate species including red Colobus

monkeys,bush babies, the rare L'Hoest monkeys, black-faced vervet monkeys,blue monkeys, grey mangabeys,pottos, and

baboons. There are about 335 recorded bird species to watch including the widespread Prigogine’s ground thrush. The shady

forest trails bring much pleasure to botanists and butterfly lovers.The forest elephant, both smaller and hairier than the

savannah elephant, moves seasonally into the developed part of the park. Other mammals such asthe giant forest hogs,buffalo

and a half dozen antelope species will spice up your Kibale forest exploration.Thendrive to Queen Elizabeth National Park for

dinner and spend the night at Mweya Safari Lodge, Jacana safari Lodge or Hippo Hill Camp.


Day 5:  Wildlife Tour, Queen Elizabeth National Park


Have an early morning game drive in order to spot the early risers such as the elusive leopards and hyenas. After the game

drive,return to the lodge to have breakfastand resta little. Resume with the game drive following the Kasenyi trail for hippos,

buffalo, hyenas,lions, antelopes and many more. You will return to the lodge for lunch and a have chance to relax at the

wonderful swimming pool before taking an afternoon boat tour along the Kazinga channel to take a close look at hippos, buffalo

and crocodiles. The banks of the channel are also home to many bird species that include the saddle billed stork,the

pink-backed pelican, the pied and malachite kingfisher and many others. Enjoy a night at Mweya Safari Lodge, Jacana Safari

Lodge or Hippo Hill Camp.

Day 6:  Bwindi National Park


Get on the move to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park through Ishasha Game Reserve after an early morning

breakfast. Watch out for the famous tree-climbing lions and then continue for lunch at Gorilla Resort Camp inBuhoma. Bwindi

Impenetrable Forest is home to 348 birdspeciesand seven red data book species. Bwindi Gorilla Forest is an extension of the

forests of the Virunga Volcanoes and will give you a delightful flora and fauna sight. Have dinner and spend the night at

Buhoma Lodge, Gorilla Resort Camp, Lake Kitandara Camp,Engagi Lodge orBuhoma Community Rest Camp.


Day 7:  Tracking Gorillas


Eat a copious breakfast and with packed lunch, get to Buhoma park headquarters for briefing before getting onthe gorilla trail at

 

8:30 am. Park guides will then take you through the thick root tree forestand undergrowth totrailthe gorillas. This 2 to 9 hour

 

trail requires a reasonable degree of fitness and a pair of jungle shoes. Once encountered, you will be able totake photographs

of the gorillas and listen to them grumble for one hour. It’s important to note that there are only about 650 of these stunning

apes left in the world and most of them are found in Bwindi.Have dinner and spend the nightat Buhoma lodge, Gorilla Resort

camp, Lake Kitandara Camp,Engagi Lodge or Buhoma Community Rest Camp.


Day 8:  Bwindi - Lake Bunyonyi Overland Camp


Drive to Bunyonyi traversing the Kigezi Highlands commonly referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa" immediately after an

early morning breakfast. Take a picnic lunch and get to the overland camp of Lake Bunyonyi (the lake of Birds),the deepest

lakes in Africa. Bird around and enjoy traditional dances by the local people or have evening walks around the nearby villages

to see the native huts in which the locals dwell and interact with them.Enjoy dinner and night at Habuharo Island camp or Arcadia Cottages.


Day 9: Bunyoni - Lake Mburo National Park


After breakfast let us take you to Lake Mburo National Park and have your lunch en route in Mbarara town. Continue to Lake

Mburo National Park for an evening boat sailor a game drive. Whichever you choose, beguaranteed of seeing a diversity of

game and birds. The difference is that one is on water and the other one is on land.Your dinner and night will be spentat

Mantana Luxury tented Camp,Mihingo Lodge, Lake View Hotel or Basic Rwonyo bandas.


Day 10:  Lake Mburo National Park - Kampala

 


Undertake a nature walkafter your early morning breakfast. The most interesting nature walks in the countrywill expose you to

primates, birds, different antelope species, buffalo and many wild plant species. After this, continue to Kampala but stop-over in

Lyantonde for lunch and at the Equator for African crafts and taking photographs. Arrivein the late evening in Kampala where

you will have dinner and spend your night at Speke Hotel or the Lodge.

TOUR ITINERARY


Day 1: Kampala - Bwindi Gorilla Forest


Depending on the availability of gorilla permits at the time of your visit, after having breakfast in your Kampala hotel, you will travel to Bwindi Impenetrable or Mgahinga national parks. Then you will spend thenight at Gorilla Forest Camp or Buhoma

Community Rest Camp.



Day 2: Gorilla trekking Tour in Bwindi National Park


Immediately after breakfast,a game ranger will lead you on the gorilla trails deep into the thick rain forest in search of the

gigantic mountain gorillas. Hewill brief you on what to do. Once those beautiful primates are tracked you will spend an hour

interacting with them and taking photographs. After lunch, you will enjoy a walk and visitthe native Batwa community for

cultural entertainment.The second night will also be spent at the Gorilla Forest Camp or Buhoma Community Rest Camp.


Day 3: Bwindi Gorilla Forest - Kampala


After an early breakfast at the camp you will drive back to Kampala, have your lunch en route in Mbarara or Masaka and arrive

in Kampala in the evening. Your night will be spent at Lodge Lweza on Entebbe Road for a quick and jam free airport transfer

at your chosen time.

5 Days Uganda Gorilla Tour


Gorillas found in Bwindi represent about 340 mountain gorillas out of the 720 worldwide preserved gorillas. Mgahinga Park also

has gorillas. In Uganda, the newest group, the Nshongi gorilla family, is believed to be the largest and the most unique one,

with 34 individuals led by three silverbacks. The Nkuringo and Mubaare species are counted among the 6 gorilla families in

Uganda.

 
Day 1: Kampala - Bwindi Gorilla Forest


As early as 6:00am after having breakfast, go on a journey to Bwindi through the southwest Masaka Mbarara road via the

Kigezi Highlands. You will reach Kisoro in the evening. Spend the night at Travelers Rest Hotel –Kisoro.


Day 2: Mountain gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest


After breakfast you will go to the park offices and at 9:00 am get on the gorilla tracks in the impenetrable forest.It might take

between 2 to 9 hours before finding the giant gorillas depending on their movement. The quest for these great apes is tiresome

since you will walk quite a lot.You will enjoy photographing and spending time with these great gorillas while looking straight

into their expressive and inviting brown eyes.This is the lifetime thrill of a wildlife adventure which can only be offered in

Africa. Spend your second night at Travelers Rest Hotel - Kisoro


Day 3: Queen Elizabeth Tour & the Kazinga Channel Biodiversity


Afterbreakfast you willget on the move to Queen Elizabeth National park. Youwill access the park through Ishasha sector and

have a game drive enroute. You will see Uganda’s kobs, tree climbing lions, monkeys and much more. You will then arrive at

Mweya Safari Lodge in the evening. Dinner and night will be spent at Mweya Safari Lodge / Hill Camp.


Day 4: Wildlife in Queen Elizabeth National Park


As you return to the Mweya safari lodge for an early morning breakfast, an extensive game drive will be expecting you through

the tracks Kasenyi Tracks. After breakfast, continue to Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee tracking.You will then have lunch and

embark on a cruise along the Kazinga Channel which will fascinate you with its biodiversity. Have your dinner and overnight at

Mweya Safari Lodge/ Hippo Hill Camp (FB).


Day 5: Kampala

 
Go back to Kampala and spend a night at the AZCM preferred hotel or any of your choice.

Day 1 - Arrival at Entebbe Airport


On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, our company representative shall warmly welcome you and drive you to the

hotel-The Lodge - Kampala (BB) where you will have dinner and spend the night.

 


Day 2 - The magnificent Murchison Falls on the River Nile


Move northwest from Kampala after an early morning breakfast. On your way, visit the Ziwa Rhino refuge during a walk in

 

nature to see the rare rhinos in their wild natural set up. You can have lunch in Masindi town and continueyour trip to Murchison

 

Falls National Park- the3.840 Kilometer, largest protected area in Uganda named after the wonder falls of Lake Victoria. At this

 

point, the Nile River squeezes itself from over a kilometer wide down to a seven meter bed in the valley. The 43 meter drop of

the falls creates a thunderous roar and a beautiful rainbow in a curl of spray – the most fabulous tourist sight ever. Enjoy dinner

and night at Paraa Safari Lodge /Red Chilli Rest Camp (FB).

 


Day 3 - The boat cruise on the river Nile


After an early breakfast you will be guided to the Northern part of the park for a game drive to view and photograph prominent

wild animals typical of MFNP. The animals include hippos, elephants, giraffes, buffalos, waterbucks, lions, Uganda kobs as well

as the leopards on a good day and a variety of bird species. After lunch, you will enjoya two-hour cruise under the mighty

Murchison falls where the water escaping from the narrow gorge will let you hear a great roaring thunder.Along the riverbanks

you are assured to see the amazing hippos and crocodiles at close range. Then you will return to the lodge for dinner and night

(FB).


Day 4 - Fort Portal - the shadow of the Mountains of the Moon


After breakfast, you will leave Murchison Falls National Park for a 8 hour via the Albertine Escarpment of the great Western Rift

Valley. Heading southwest, you will continue through Hoima until you reach the capital of the Tooro kingdom, Fort Portal, a

warm and beautiful town situated in the shadow of the enchantedMountains of the Moon,”( the Rwenzori).You will have lunch

at Mountains of the Moon Hotel in Fort Portal or any other hotel of your choice. You may then get on your wayto Queen

Elizabeth National Park while enjoying the beautiful scenery leading to Mweya Safari Lodge or Mweya Hostel where you will

have dinner and spend the night.

 


Day 5 -  Queen Elizabeth National Park


You will have a game drive along Kasenyitrail and Queen’s Mile in the park, after your early breakfast cup of tea.You will see

gigantic elephants, lions, buffalos,warthogs and antelopes. Go back to the lodge for breakfast and restuntillunch, after which

youwill enjoy the 2 hours open cruise on Kazinga Channel and see an amazing variety of birds and wildlife animals that include

hippos, crocodiles, water backs and many more. Later in the evening,drive to the crater lakesregion toadmire more of Uganda’s

Day 6 - Tracking the habituated chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge


Carry packed breakfast and lunch as we take you to Chambura gorge-16 km long and 100 meters deep within the Rift Valley-

for a forest walk in search for the habituated chimpanzees andother primates. The game rangers willoffer you a walking stick

for this interesting adventure might bea little tiresome. You will then go on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

through the Maramagambo and Ishasha sectors of the Park. You will have dinner and spend the night at Bwindi Gorilla Resort

/Nkuringo Lodge or Kisoro Tourist Hotel (FB).


Day 7 - Tracking mountain gorillas in Uganda-Bwindi.


Get on the mountains gorilla tracks inside the impenetrable Bwindi forest, after an early morning breakfast briefing from the

guides. Bring your drinking water, rain jacket and jungle boots while the rangers will give you a walking stick.

Gorilla tracking is a tedious and exciting activity you will enjoy in the Bwindi Tropical Rain forest.Once you find them, you will be

permitted to take photographs and interact with the gorillas for only an hour. Right after tracking, go back to your hotel/lodge for

lunch and drive to Kabale through the beautiful territory of the rolling hills and their terraced landscape.You will have dinner and

spend the night at Arcadia Cottages (FB).


Day 8 - The Lake Bunyonyi scenery tour


Embark on a 2 hour boat ride inside Lake Bunyonyi and byvarious islands for bird viewing, scenery seeing and discovering the

Bakiga cultureafter breakfast.Then, on your way to Kampala, you will have a stopover in Mbarara for lunch, another one at the

Equator from where you may take photos and buy African crafts/souvenirs. Reach Kampala in the evening. Have dinner and

spend the night at Speke Hotel / Golf Course Hotel (luxury)/ Tourist Hotel (mid-range) /The Lodge kampala- BB.

 
Day 9 - End of the Uganda Safari


You will be taken to Entebbe airport for your flight back home by one of our tour guide.

TOUR ITINERARY


Day 1: Kampala Cultural Tour


On arrival at Entebbe airport you will be welcomed by our representative who will drive you to your hotel. You may choose to

go for a tour in Kampala to check some of the nice places in this capital such as the Buganda kingdom palace and its

parliament, Bulange, Bahai temple,Namirembe and Rubaga gothic cathedrals, Kasubi tombs, Namugongo martyrs shrine,

Uganda museum,craft centers and many more depending on your arrival time. You will have dinner and spend the night at

Speke Hotel/Sheraton Hotel / Serena Hotel.


Day 2: Lake Mburo Wildlife Tour


After an early morning breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo national park which is home to several animal and bird species not easily

found in Uganda. In the afternoon you will reach thepark, the only reserve in the country that supports a population of Impalas

(the handsome antelope after which Kampala was named).Then go for a game drive with a guide to look out for wild animals

such as warthogs, buffalo, bush pigs and many more. After the ride you might enjoy any on the following activities: sunbathing,

canoeing,volley ball, fishing if you have fishing gadgets.If you don’t have your personal equipment, inform us in advance so can

we hire it for you.Your dinner and night will be spent at Rwonyo Camp (budget)/ Mantana Tented Camp (luxury).

 


Day 3: Game Viewing Tour and Journey to Bwindi National Park


After breakfast you will have a game drive through the park and then go to Bwindi National Park through thekabale highlands

of Uganda. This mountainous area of the green highlands is commonly referred to as“the Switzerland of Africa”. You will arrive

in the late evening. Dinnerwill be taken and night spent at the Gorilla Forest Camp orBuhoma Community Bandas (budget).

 


Day 4: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Forest

 


After breakfast, take a packed lunch andget to the park offices to get briefed. At 9:00 am start tracking the gorilla in the

impenetrable forest. It might take between 2 to 9 hours before finding the giant Gorillas depending on their movement. The

quest for these great apes might reveal tiresome as you will walk a lot.On the other side it is well rewarded as you meet and

spend time with these great gorillas. You may take pictures of them and look straight into their communicative and attractive

brown eyes. This is the lifetime thrill in a wildlife adventure only Africa can offer you.Gorilla forest Camp (luxury) or Buhoma

community Bandas (budget) will serve you dinner and let you rest overnight.


Day 5: Bwindi NP to Kampala


Drive back to Kampala after breakfast with lunch en route in Mbarara. You will arrive in the afternoon. Take dinner and spend

the night at Lodge-Lweza for an easy transfer to the airport.
